You can order and purchase your textbooks and course materials through Davenport ’s virtual bookstore partner – MBS Direct – one of the largest bookstore vendors in the country. Through MBS Direct you can order your books online or by phone, have your orders conveniently delivered to your home or office, and even participate in book buyback.
To order books online go to MBS Direct’s Davenport page, click on the Buy Course Materials “Go” button and select your campus location. You can also order by phone toll free at 800-325-3252; by fax toll free at 800-499-0143; or by mail order.

How do I determine which textbooks/course materials to order?
To ensure order accuracy, first identify which Davenport University location you will attend and the course in which you are enrolled. MBS Direct will then inform you of the required or recommended course materials to order.
Note: Students must identify online courses separately from their campus-based courses.
What if I have a Book Voucher?
Students using a Davenport University Book Voucher must phone in their order after their financial aid office has forwarded the voucher information to MBS Direct. Students must call MBS Customer Service at (800) 325-3252.
Note: MBS is undergoing programming so ordering can be done online. We don’t have an implementation date at this point.
How do I pay for books?
MBS Direct accepts:
- All major credit cards.
- Personal checks by mail.
- Money orders by mail.
- Financial aid/Book Voucher via Customer Service at (800) 325-3252.
Is the Internet site secure?
Yes. MBS Direct’s secure server supports standard SSL encryption when a credit card number is entered.
Are used textbooks available?
MBS does carry used textbooks. When placing an order, MBS will inventory all course materials requested for each course. If used books are available, you will be provided the option of a new or used book. Used books are offered for sale at 25% off.

How are orders filled?
MBS Direct ships orders within 24 hours. Orders are delivered to your home or business, according to your instructions.
Important tip: Ask if there are any shipping specials! In the past, MBS Direct has offered:
- Reduced rates for orders that can be batched and held for up to a week during MBS Order Early Campaigns.
- Ship your entire order for $6.50.
You also save money because you are not charged state tax on your purchase.
Reminder: Order early to avoid the expense of priority shipping.
I always get my textbooks at the last minute. What shipping options are available?

Note: Next day and 2 nd day orders must be completed by noon CDT/CST to ship that day. Regular ground orders ship within 24 hours.
Will MBS Direct allow returns/refunds?
MBS Direct allows books and materials, new or used, to be returned within 14 days of the course start date or date received—whichever is later—for a full refund. Contact MBS Direct for more information. You may call MBS Direct Customer Service at (800) 325-3252 with any order-related questions.
Can I sell books back to MBS Direct at the end of the term?
Yes. You have the opportunity to sell your books back to MBS Direct if the title(s) have a buyback value. If you purchased books with a buyback value, you will receive a quote via mail or e-mail listing the value of the book(s) for resale, along with a convenient prepaid shipping label. You may also go online at or call MBS Customer Service at (800) 325-3252 for a quote on a book’s current value, if they have the following information ready: author, title, ISBN, edition and publisher.
How long will it take for MBS Direct to process the check for buying back my book(s)?
Upon receipt of the book(s) at MBS, a check will be issued for the buyback price. Please allow two to three weeks processing time.
